Minutes of General Meeting held Saturday 3rd May 2008

Present: - Steve Howarth, Bill Lang, Kay Lang, Janet Smith, Kerry Parker, Geoff Kell, Neville Slyney, Michael Carey, Brian Stevens.
Apologies: - Maurice Duffill, Michael Smith, John Parker, Suzanne Newnham, Irene Holloway.

Minutes
Minutes of previous meeting moved as correct Michael Carey, sec. Kerry Parker.

Matters arising from minutes:
Request for list of properties wishing to have bugs released for control of Saint John's Wort and Patterson's Curse

Treasurers Report:
Tabled by President in absence of Treasurer
Closing Balance: $3283.14
Rivercare Balance: $813.81
Term Deposit: $8745.09 (to be reinvested 5th May 08)

Correspondence:
E-mail from Maurice Duffill re bad state of Nottingham Road

Community Recreation Ground
No one present to table report.

General Business.
President reported on new Planting at Notice Board and Toilet area, hopefully they will survive this year.
President also reported Notices are being posted on outside of notice Board or pushed in behind door. Please ring Secretary or President to have Notices posted.
Bill Lang spoke re having a ANZAC Dawn Service at Memorial Hall next year, the general consensus of the meeting was in favour of that concept.
Bill Lang moved sec Brian Stevens Secretary write to Manager YVC to inform them there is no connection between Wee Jasper Tourist Association and the Wee Jasper Community Association.
Brian Stevens reported the gutters of Hall need cleaning, the rain water tank would not be catching water as they are.
Geoff Kell reported Party to be held on June long Week end at Memorial Hall purely as a get together not as fundraiser.
Brain Stevens would like to know from Council when white lines would be redone at Tree Junction and when Concrete would be finalised at the tip.
Michael Carey moved a Community Notice be sent out re updating Honour Roll at Memorial Hall Post 1945 conflict, if there is Community interest Bill Lang will help with Board. There was no criteria if people who served were long time residents or newly settled in the Wee Jasper Area sec. Bill Lang
Bill Lang to investigate the "Firearm" which was presented to the Memorial Hall when it was opened, it would be good to have a photograph displayed in the Hall.
